The Spring Revel

undefined

Please join us for our seventieth-anniversary Spring Revel on April 4, 2023, at Cipriani 42nd Street.

The Paris Review, founded in 1953, is an independent, nonprofit organization. At the 2023 Spring Revel, we’ll gather writers, artists, and friends to celebrate seventy years of publishing, in the words of William Styron, “the good writers and good poets, the non-drumbeaters and non-axe grinders,” and raise vital funds for the future. These proceeds enable us to continue to publish beautiful, daring writing and art in print and online; produce our groundbreaking podcast; host unique live events; and develop innovative projects that will surprise and enchant new generations of readers.

We will present the 2023 Hadada, our award for lifetime achievement in literature, to Vivian Gornick, a writer whose remarkable works of memoir and criticism redefined those forms for the contemporary era. In addition, the Plimpton Prize—named for founding editor George Plimpton, who tirelessly championed early-career writers—will be presented to an emerging fiction writer whose work we published during the past year. We will also present a new prize, named after our beloved former publisher Susannah Hunnewell, to celebrate a writer at any stage of their career. (A full list of previous prize winners can be found on our Prizes page.) The event will be chaired by the artist, musician, and inimitable creative pioneer Laurie Anderson.

Join us by donating at one of the following levels:
